What Types Of Bulldozers Are There?
Bulldozer is a kind of mechanical equipment widely used in earthwork engineering, which mainly uses the front bulldozer to perform operations such as bulldozing, leveling, and excavation. According to different designs, uses and structural characteristics, bulldozers can be divided into the following categories:
I. Classification by walking method
1. Crawler bulldozer
It adopts crawler walking mechanism, with low ground pressure, large traction, strong stability, and adaptability to complex terrain (such as mud, sand, and rugged ground).
2. Wheeled bulldozer
It uses tires for walking, with high maneuverability and high driving speed, which is suitable for frequent transfer of construction sites or short-distance transportation.
II. Classification by use
1. General bulldozer
Standard bulldozer, suitable for most earthwork projects (such as leveling land, bulldozing, backfilling, etc.).
2. Wetland bulldozer
Equipped with wide crawler or triangular crawler shoes to reduce the pressure on the ground and prevent sinking.
Application: Operation on soft ground such as swamps, tidal flats, and rice fields.
3. Mining bulldozer
High power, super strong structure design, equipped with heavy blades and protective devices.
Application: mine stripping, ore accumulation, high hardness material processing.
4. Sanitation bulldozer
Equipped with special blades (such as U-shaped blades or tilting blades), used for compacting and leveling garbage piles in landfills.
III. Classification by power type
1. Diesel bulldozer
Mainstream power type, high power, high reliability, suitable for heavy-duty operations.
2. Electric bulldozer
Relying on external power or battery drive, environmentally friendly and emission-free, but limited by power supply conditions, mostly used in tunnels, indoors or closed sites.
3. Hybrid bulldozer
Combining diesel and electric drive, energy saving and consumption reduction, suitable for projects with high environmental protection requirements.
IV. Classification by bulldozer type
1. Straight shovel (fixed shovel)
The shovel is fixed vertically to the fuselage, suitable for straight bulldozing and leveling operations.
2. Angle shovel (adjustable shovel blade)
The shovel blade can be tilted to a certain angle (usually ±25°) to the left or right, suitable for side bulldozing, slope repair or trenching.
3. U-shaped shovel
The shovel blade is U-shaped and has a large capacity, suitable for centralized pushing of loose materials (such as sand, gravel, coal).
4. Semi-U-shaped shovel
It is between the straight shovel and the U-shaped shovel, taking into account bulldozing efficiency and flexibility.
